Chambers Europe 2020 guide is now available at chambers.com and WH Partners team and individual members were ranked in four practice areas: Corporate/Commercial, Corporate/Commercial: Gaming & Licensing, Financial Services and Tax.
WH Partners is top ranked in the Corporate/Commercial: Gaming & Licensing practice area in Malta. Chambers Europe 2020 notes that firm is "highly sought after by international clients from the gaming sector for advice across a range of matters, including acquisitions, regulations, reorganisations and fund-raising matters. Assists gambling companies with setting up in Malta. Advises fintech companies on financing rounds and regulatory matters. Also active on real estate mandates." The publication also mentions that "Interviewees enthuse that 'the team is a market leader in Malta when it comes to gaming licensing.''"
According to the recently released guide the Financial Services team is "particularly active on fintech mandates, advising clients on cryptocurrency and blockchain matters, often acting for clients from the gaming industry. Also assists with traditional financing mandates, including credit facilities and acquisition financing. Acts for clients on licensing and regulatory matters, such as payment services directives." Feedback to Chambers Europe 2020 included that the lawyers are 'knowledgeable about the subject matter and quick to understand the commercial nuance.'"
The guide also ranked Co-Managing Partner Olga Finkel in the Corporate/Commercial practice area in Malta and Partner Ramona Azzopardi in the Tax practice area in Malta.
